English and Spanish to French translation

Translation consists of conveying the meaning of a text in all its nuances from the source language into the target language, as if it had been written in that language.

Translators are the text’s most careful readers. They are attentive to all the formal aspects of the text — such as conventions of spelling, punctuation, semantics and syntax — and, more generally, to the context, so they can understand and grasp its meaning at the deepest level before producing a version in the target language that is equivalent to the original.

English and Spanish to French proofreading

Proofreading consists of reviewing the translated text against the source to make sure all the content is present and that the meaning is faithfully rendered in the target language.

During the final reading, the translator makes sure the French text reads well, as if it had originally been written in that language. Finally, the translator checks all proper names and figures to verify that they contain no mistakes.

Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE)

In recent years, technology has made huge progress, and translation work is shifting towards machine translation post-editing.

In this process, AI or other software produces a first draft that a human translator then reviews. This has proven effective for repetitive texts or content that is less abstract.

I prefer to use DeepL Translator for this service and can integrate my MTPE workflow with the customer’s own system if requested.
